Members of our Team have advised Welsh Government, numerous Local Authorities, Charities, social and commercial landlords and private individuals on the impact of the implementation of the Renting Homes [Wales] Act across the Housing sector in Wales.

In addition, several of our members have been instructed by Welsh Government to provide legal assistance to Welsh Ministers in relation to the COVID Inquiry.

Our counsel are regularly instructed to appear and advise in Judicial Review proceedings in the Administrative Court and Upper Tribunal especially in relation to local government, social welfare, environmental, planning, human rights and immigration challenges.

A number of our barristers are on the Attorney General’s Panel of Approved Junior Counsel or Welsh Government’s equivalent. Members of the team have also been appointed to the Equality and Human Rights Commission Panel of Approved Counsel. Legislation in the housing sector is devolved in Wales and our team have advised and lectured extensively in relation to the implementation and effect of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016, the biggest single change to the law in Wales in decades.

Our caseload includes matters concerning homelessness, possession proceedings, housing management and policy, unlawful eviction, disrepair, nuisance/anti-social behaviour, Equality Act considerations, Right to Buy and Houses in Multiple Occupation.
